About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The online student journal “forsch!” (“research!”) was dedicated to providing undergraduate and graduate students a platform for their own academic research. Our goal was to make their research available beyond the classroom as well as to promote essential skills that contribute to developing one’s profile as a researcher.
Some of these skills include interdisciplinary presentations, critical discussion and evaluation of (research) results. Following the journal’s motto “research through studying |studying through research”, these skills were fostered in different ways:
- Students practiced essential skills for academic writing and argumentation.
- Students communicated their research to an interdisciplinary audience.
Undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Oldenburg were welcome to submit their manuscripts in one the following categories:
- Research paper
- Essay
- Exposé
- Experimental format
- Research poster
- Distinguished Final Theses
Origin
The journal was conceptualised and implemented as part of the BMBF project FLiF+ - Research-Based Learning in Focus Plus (2011-2021).
