Abstract

In ‘Der feige Ehemann’ the narratio is undermined by the epimythion. Contrary to the representation on the discours level, the narrator's voice here agrees with the marginalisation of rape as schädlein (small damage). In ‘Drei Mönche von Kolmar’, according to the epimythion, only the fourth monk is murdered unjustly, and the murder of the three monks is omitted from the axiological discussion. If epimythia relate at least axiologically ambivalently to the evaluative structure of the narratio, against previously established axiological concepts, utterances of a hierarchically privileged instance are now contradicted – a perfidious narrative that limits didactic-exemplary explanation.
